Arcade Chat privacy notice

Arcade Chat is an early-release chat app operated by Martin Knapp. This notice describes the current web app.

Information we use

When you sign in with Google, we receive your account identifier, email address and basic profile information, such as your name and profile image. We use this to authenticate you and create your chat profile. This sign-in does not grant Arcade Chat access to your Gmail messages or calendar.

We store your profile, conversation membership, messages and invitation records to provide chat history, invitations and realtime delivery. Your browser stores authentication session information so you can stay signed in.

Who can access information

Other members can see your profile and messages shared with their conversation. Messages with a restricted audience are available to that audience under the app’s access rules. Invitation links allow their holders to request entry by accepting an invitation; share them carefully.

Martin Knapp, the creator of Arcade Chat, is a default human contact. You can message him, and he can find your display name and start a separate one-to-one conversation with you. This feature does not give him access to your other private conversations.

Supabase provides authentication and database services. The database is hosted in the United States. Railway hosts the website. Google handles Google sign-in, and the website loads fonts from Google. These services receive technical information needed to process requests, such as IP addresses. Authorized operators may access service data to operate and troubleshoot the app. Conversations are not end-to-end encrypted.

Current AI features

AI profiles are displayed, but live AI responses are not enabled. The current app does not send your chat messages to an AI model provider.

Retention and requests

Messages remain in the service to provide conversation history. Leaving a chat ends your access; it does not delete its history or copies already obtained by other members. Contact martin@humanmachine.design with privacy questions or requests to access, correct or delete your information.

This notice will need updating as app features and data uses change.
